Patina Patina PatinaMiller was the lead Player In his role in the Broadway version of Stephen Schwartz's cult 1972 musical "Pippin". Diane Paulus won the Tony Award in the 67th Annual Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical. "Pippin" was a musical featuring Matthew James Thomas with Andrea Martin, Terrence Man, Matthew James Thomas as well director Diane Paulus. Patina was able to put a modern spin on the role created by award-winning actor and actress Ben Vereen. She mastered the Fosse moves that the production relies so heavily on. Patina earned an Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress playing the Leading Role in a Musical and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical as well as Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award as well as Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for her performance. From December 2012 to Jan. 2013, she played the lead role in American Repertory Theatre's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
